The purpose of this page is to provide information to Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Ventures as they progress through Scouting, and to their parents and Scout leaders.
The Eagle rank is a very significant accomplishment for any Scout. It is given special treatment here because it can only be achieved through commitment and hard work. As with most difficult endeavors, knowing what is expected, and the necessary steps of the process, makes the journey go more smoothly. The Life-to-Eagle section pulls together as much information as possible to help Scouts through that process.
The information on this web site is from a variety of sources, including official Boy Scouts of America publications. The information presented is not necessarily the official position of the Boy Scouts of America.

Eagle Scout Rank
District Advancement Committee Chair
Name: Marianne Parker
Phone: 678.414.3694
email: [email protected]
Please initiate all communications with the District Advancement Committee by phone call. If the phone isn't answered please leave a message including your name, Unit #, and the purpose of your call.
Eagle Scout Project Approvals:
I can usually meet at the following locations for any advancement related discussions including Eagle Scout project approvals and Eagle Scout project fundraiser application approvals.
Eagle Scout Candidates should call the number above to arrange to meet me. Please remember to have another adult with you when you call to comply with Youth Protection requirements!
Communication via Email:
Email may be used to exchange information, but requests to meet for review and approval of the Eagle Scout Project, and Project Fundraiser applications should be initiated by phone (678-232-5387). Please remind your scouts to leave a message if the call is not answered. I do not recognize the phone numbers of scouts and will not know who to call back with out a message. Please also remind them to leave a name, unit #, and reason for call. I've had a few messages from scouts that leave me wondering who they are and why they called.
Text Messages:
Similar to Email, this medium may be used to exchange information, but should not be used to contact me initially. Please have the scout call.
Eagle Board of Review:
Eagle Scout Boards of Review should no longer be requested directly by the Eagle candidate. The Guide to advancement 2013 was very clear and the 2015 makes it more clear that the scout is not to be expected to arrange his BOR:
www.scouting.org/scoutsource/GuideToAdvancement/BoardsofReview.aspx#8002
8.0.0.2 Boards of Review Must Be Granted When Requirements Are Met
A Scout shall not be denied this opportunity. When he believes he has completed all the requirements for a rank, including a Scoutmaster conference, a board of review must be granted.Scoutmasters—or councils or districts in the case of the Eagle Scout rank—for example, do not have authority to expect a boy to request or organize one, or to “defer” him, or to ask him to perform beyond the requirements in order to be granted one. In a case where there is concern the Scout has not fulfilled the requirements for a rank as written, it is appropriate to advise the young man that he might not pass the board and to make suggestions about what he might do to improve his chances for success. It is, however, the Scout’s decision to go ahead with a board of review or not.
So I'm asking that the Committee Chairs and or the Scoutmasters/Crew Advisers contact the me to set up the BOR once you have received his application back from Council. This can be done via call or email.
